Research collaboration with Ghent University through Indo-Belgian (DST-BELSPO) project - NUCSER

Dr. Praveen Rai, Asst. Professor and Mr. Prithvisagar, PG student, Nitte Centre for Science Education and Research have been awarded fellowship for 3 months to proceed to the Department of Bioscience and Bioengineering, Ghent University to carry out research pertaining to the collaborative DST-BELSPO (Indo Belgian) project “AQUASTRESS”. The travel is funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and their local hospitality (food, accommodation, subsistence allowance and research expenses) through the BELSPO grant. The project on AQUASTRESS was awarded to Prof. Indrani Karunasagar, Director, ( R & D ), Nitte - Deemed to be University & Prof. Peter Bossier, Ghent University in 2016. The research collaboration has enabled the visit of Prof. Peter Bossier, Project Investigator, Ghent University to Nitte Centre for Science Education & Research for participating in workshops and discussions and reciprocal visit of the Indian Principal Investigator, Prof. Indrani Karunasagar to Ghent University. Indo Belgian research and technical collaboration supports interdisciplinary networking to enhance scientific cooperation between researchers of selected projects in both countries and to contribute to sustainable cooperation via joint research of mutual interest, organization of seminar or workshop. Nitte - Deemed to be University has been encouraging bilateral projects, which enable staff and student exchange, thus widening the research horizon.
