The Department of Pedodontics & Preventive Dentistry Headed by Prof (Dr) Amitha M. Hegde and supported by Prof (Dr.) Vabitha Shetty, Prof. (Dr) Rajmohan Shetty, Prof (Dr.) Manju R, Dr. Amarshree Shetty, Dr. Nikita Lolayekar and Dr. Mohammed Shaji were happy to celebrate Pedodontist’s Day and Children’s day on 14th November 2017 at the glass house premises of college campus.. The programme was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) U.S. Krishna Nayak, Principal and Dean of A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. 30 differently abled children had been invited from different schools of Mangaluru to be a part of the celebrations. The inauguration was done by watering the saplings, imparting a message to promote nature and plant trees. This was followed by the games conducted for children, and the games promoted the message of oral hygiene maintenance and consumption of healthy food. Children were given stationery sets, box of crayons and fruits for refreshments. They were also given saplings to plant it in their school to promote nature. We were privileged to give a printer to Sri Ramakrishna School, Harekala Principal, Mr. Ravindra Shetty for the event by our interns. It was a very interactive event that promoted awareness regarding oral health as positive reinforcement.
