Nitte Institute of Communication to conduct Five-Day Workshops - NICO



Nitte Institute of Communication, a constituent college of Nitte University, Mangaluru, will conduct three five-day workshops from Tuesday, 27th June, to Saturday 1st July. The workshops will be on Photography, Video Editing and Radio Jockeying (RJ). All workshops will be held at Nitte Institute of Communication in Deralakatte, Mangaluru. They are open to all participants above 16 years of age.

Workshop on Photography: The photography workshop will be conducted for five days from 27th June to 1st July, 2 pm to 5 pm. Aimed at beginners and intermediate photographers alike, the workshop will focus on learning the basics of photography like composition, lighting, and color. Participants will be exposed to portrait photography, food photography, travel photography and product photography among others. Sessions will include understanding photography through world-famous photographs and practical sessions where students would be given a theme and would have to shoot pictures accordingly. The basics of Adobe Photoshop and photo-editing will also be taught. This workshop will be conducted by Prof Raviraj, Head-Nitte Institute of Communication who has 12 years of experience with cameras and photography.

Workshop on Video Editing The video editing workshop will be conducted for five days from 27th June to 1st July, 10 am to 1 pm. It is designed to prepare participants to make a movie by teaching them how to collect digital videos, edit both video and audio files on a computer and upload them on to the internet. The Workshop will also have sessions on multi-camera editing and short-film editing. The video-editing workshop will be conducted by Rahul Ganesh, Filmmaker and Faculty, Nitte Institute of Communication. Rahul has been making short films for five years and his most recent film Alive was showcased at Cannes, France.

Workshop on Radio Jockeying The Radio Jockey (RJ) workshop will be held for five days from 27th June to 1st July, from 10 am to 4 pm. This workshop will teach participants to design, script and host their own radio show. Special emphasis will be placed on voice modulation and presentation and also hands-on usage of all technical equipment needed for recording. Participants will have to present a final radio package at the end of the session. This workshop will be conducted by Wilma Serrao, Asst. Professor at Nitte Institute of Communication who has several years of experience in hosting programs. Certificates will be awarded to all candidates on completion of the Workshop.
