In present day world professional schools and colleges using LCD projector for Teaching and learning processes. This projector usually mounted to ceiling of the building by means of central pole [over hanged]. Smuggling/theft of these Projectors is very easy by losing three small screws. Plenty of LCD’s thefts from engineering colleges like NITK’s and IIT’s. Some locking system for LCD projector can prevent this from smugglers. Few locking systems are available to protect the projector from the smugglers, but more cost with plenty of disadvantages like overweight with big structures.
In order to find an alternative solution for this problem,NMAMIT Nitte has done very reliable, cost effective and easy locking system to lock the LCD projectors.
Prepare the setup in the following manner:-
Remove/unscrew rear side [back side] two height adjustment fibre screws [screws are end locking type by simple pull it is possible to remove them from body of the projector]. Select the metal screws of same specification [diameter and thread formation should be same as that of fibre screw]. Fabricate [weld] the screw head with a metal ring of diameter 25-30 mm [or suitable diameter depends on the size of chain used to lock the Projector.
Assemble the ring headed screws in to the projector body i.e, screw them gently in to the holes [little pressure is required to assemble them in the body of the projector]. Select the suitable metal chain [ maximum 30 inch chain is enough] and pass the chain through screw rings and space available at the centre ceiling pole with the projector and lock them with regular locks.
