NUCSER’s Day Out

A one-day excursion was organized for the staff and the students of NUCSER on March 13th, 2016 to visit some archeological and historical spots in and around Mangalore, as a part of the extra-curricular activities for the centre. Moodbidri a center of Jain religion, culture, art and architecture during 14th - 16th centuries, was the place of visit. The NUCSER team visited many ancient temples of the bygone era, such as 1000 pillars Temple (Saavira Kambada Basadi), the 42 ft long Monolithic Statue of Baahubali (Lord Gomteshwara) and the Four-faced Temple (Chaturmukha Basadi). The NUCSER team also visited a nearby resort, called Pandit Health Resorts and Spa for lunch and other recreational activities such as outdoor games, swimming, and karaoke singing. The University provided the buses for the trip.
