Women cell of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences celebrated International Women’s day on theme “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality” on 08-03-2016 at Conference hall, NUINS. The programme started with welcome speech by Assoc. Prof. Mrs. Nalini M, Coordinator of Women’s Cell. The resource person was Sr. Carmelita, Director, Sampoorna Counselling Centre, Mangaluru.
The resource person in her talk focused on, what is Gender Equality? How we should control our mind, soul and body? How we should celebrate each moments of our life and Importance of stress management in Women’s Empowerment. She also taught about Brain Gym, Laughing Yoga, Pranayama for the participants to fight against various health problems. There were about 30 Non-teaching employees from various constituent college of Nitte University benefited from this programme. The programme ended with Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Dyslyn Lobo, Asst. Lecturer, Department of OBG Nursing and Member, Women’s Cell, NUINS. The participants expressed that the program was effective and appreciable.
