The Inter-collegiate Annual Sports Day of Dr. NSAM First Grade College and PU College was held on Saturday, January 09, 2016 at the NMIT College ground behind the Canteen in a lively atmosphere.
The events were marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the students of both PU and Degree College who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the College Principals Dr. Meera Krishnappa and Mrs. Rajalakshmy.
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the invocation by Sheethal and Seema of II B.Com, followed by the Oath taking ceremony and torch relay culminating in the lighting of the torch. The sports leaders from both PU and Degree administered the solemn oath to the participants. Then, the principals officially declared the sports meet open, The torch which was taken round the ground symbolized the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high. The torch was carried by the sports secretary and athletes from various classes.
The long awaited athletic events began and comprised both track events and field events such as shot put, discus throw and walking race for teachers of both the colleges. The students participated enthusiastically in all of them.
The prizes were given away by the Principals, and the other lecturers at the end of the programme. The successful Sports Day concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by senior lecturer of the Degree College, Ms Bhagya. The events have truly left thrilling memories in the hearts of each and everyone present there.
