A high level committee of the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST), Government of Karnataka under the Chairmanship of Prof. C.N.R. Rao selected Prof. Indrani Karunasagar for the prestigious Sir M. Visvesvaraya award to honor her in appreciation and recognition of her exceptional lifetime contributions for the development of Science and Technology in the State. This award carried a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 (Rupees One Lakh) a memento and a citation and was given away by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka and President KSCST,Sri. Siddaramaiah on 30th December, 2015 in the presence of Sri. S.R. Patil, Hon'ble Minister for IT, BT and Science & Technology, Bharath Ratna Prof. C N R Rao and Prof. Anurag Kumar, Director, Indian Institute of Science and Chairman, Executive Committee, KSCST.
