On the 17th October 2015, the staff of both the First Grade and P.U College were privileged to have a very effective and meaningful faculty development programme conducted by Mrs. Rajalakshmi K.P, Principal of Dr. NSAM P.U College.

The topics covered were ‘Bridging the Gap between Teachers and Learners’, ‘Self Management’ and ‘Work Ethics’.

The sessions were interactive with discussions and activities that invited a lot of participation. The presentations were focussed and succinct, provoking thought. Despite the fact that most staff do kno0w the various concepts it was a refresher that helped everyone review various pedagogical truths such as ‘Involving Students’, ‘Making Learning Enjoyable and Interesting’, ‘Using Assessments Effectively’ and ‘Providing Opportunities for Interaction’.

‘Self Management, Work Ethics, Time Management and a Sound Philosophy’ are all ingredients for building a confident individual with self esteem and a positive attitude towards life, was the message in the second session.

Overall, it was a very productive morning and it is hoped that the principles enunciated will be remembered and practised for a better teaching – learning environment in both the institutions. I congratulate Ms. Rajalakhsmi for conducting a very successful program.
