A Continuing Professional Development (CDE) program on ‘Miniscrews for Anchorage in Orthodontics’ was held on 12th October 2015 at The A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences. Prof.(Dr) O.P. Kharbanda, Chief of Centre for Dental Education and Research, AIIMS, New Delhi was the guest speaker for the event. Prof. Kharbanda spoke extensively on newer technologies in implants, clinical tips and success mantras for miniscrew success.
Prof.(Dr) N. Sridhar Shetty, founder Dean of ABSMIDS inaugurated the program. Prof.(Dr) U.S. Krishna Nayak, Principal and Dean delivered the welcome address. Prof.(Dr) Rajendra Prasad, Director of PG Studies, Nitte University, Prof.(Dr) N. Mithra Hegde, Vice Principal, A.B. Shetty Dental College, and Prof.(Dr)M.N. Kuttappa, Secretary, A.B. Shetty Ortho Alumni were present on the occasion.
The event was attended in large numbers by faculty and students of the college as well as from other colleges including delegates from places such as Mysore and Cochin. The lecture had a very positive feedback from all the delegates, making it a grand success.
