One - day industrial visit - NSAMFGC Bengaluru

On receiving permission from Fouress Engineering Ltd., 30 students of final year BBM and B.COM along with two faculty members (Ms. Aasha & Mr. Shekar) went on an industrial visit to the factory on 21st August 2015. We all assembled at the college at 9 a.m. The Principal instructed the students and we left the college at 9.30 a.m in the College Bus. We reached the factory at 10.30 a.m. HR Manager,Mr. Madhusudhan received us at the entrance and gave instructions to the students. We were asked to assemble in the seminar hall where the HR Manager gave a brief introduction about the industry. Then the Production Manager, HR Manager & HR Assistant accompanied us from one section to the next and explained the process involved in the manufacturing of various valves such as Butterfly valves, Knife gate valves, Gate valves, Spherical valves, Dampers, etc. The workers were doing the work with concentration. The Production Manager explained how the valves were manufactured, raw materials used for manufacturing different valves and how these valves are dispatched.Then we proceeded towards lunch which was organised by the industry to all of us. Post Lunch we had another session in the Seminar Hall, where a team from the Production Department gave us a presentation on the manufacturing process with the help of a Flowchart. They explained the process in such a simplified manner that both the BBM and B.COM students could understand technical application of the manufacturing process very easily.This was followed by a feedback session where students and staff expressed their appreciation and views on the visit to Fouress Engineering Ltd. The Vote of thanks was delivered by one of the students.The staff met the M.D Ms Smitha H. Shetty and expressed their gratitude for giving an opportunity to visit the industry and appreciated the hospitality rendered and thanked the managers for taking time of from their busy schedeule to be with us throughout the day. The visit came to an end and we left the premises at 2.30 p.m. It was an informative, interesting and a successful visit. A few mechanical applications and industrial processes were learnt by Commerce & Management Students and Staff. We express our gratitude to the Principal for organizing the visit.
