Fresher’s day and Student’s Council Inauguration at NGSMIPS Student council inauguration and Freshers’ day celebration of Nitte Gulabi Shetty Memorial Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and was held on Sep 12, 2015. It has been customary of the seniors to welcome and induct the new students who come from different parts of the country and make them feel at home. The day began with a prayer. Dr. Ishwar Bhat, HOD- Pharmaceutical Chemistry delivered the welcome address and introduced the chief guest.

Mr. Manoj Kumar, Head, Global Injectible Scientific Affairs, Mylan Labs Ltd, Bangalore inaugurated the student council of the year 2015-16. Mr. Manoj Kumar, alumni of the college recalled the nostalgic moments of his college days and gratefully recognized the contribution of his teachers in his career. He said hard work, perseverance, discipline and developing strong fundamentals was mandatory for a great career ahead. Presiding on the function, The Principal Dr. C. S. Shastry said that there was a vast and growing scope for employment and entrepreneurship opportunity in areas such as CROs, CRM, Clinical Trials, Pre-Clinical Trials, R&D, F&D, Regulatory Affairs, QC, QA etc. The outgoing student council president Mr. Jestin Joseph shared his experience and along with the council members handed over charge to the newly elected student council president Mr. Balasubramanya and his new team. This was followed by variety entertainment program jointly put up the seniors and the new students. Mr. Ujwal and Ms. Soundarya were adjudged Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher 2015 respectively. Mr. Justin, Gen Secy. students council proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Shantanu Saha, Asst. Prof Dept. of Pharmacognosy managed the proceedings.
