The Department of Periodontics, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, organized a dental check up camp on 31st july 2015 at Lamina Suspension Products Ltd. as part of Oral Hygiene Day celebrations. The programme was also to commerate the 30 years of academic and clinical excellence of AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences- Dazzle 30 .
August 1st is celebrated as National Oral Hygiene Day in memory of Late. Dr. G B Shankwalkar, one of the senior most periodontist in the country. The programme included a dental check-up and distribution of a dental kit containing – toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss and a pamphlet on brushing techniques to all the participants. Over 160 employees participated and availed the facility.
The chief guest for the inaugural function was Shri Avinash Shenoy, Director Lamina Suspension Products Ltd. Shri Ajith Alva General Manager and Shri Roshan Pinto CEO graced the inauguration. Shri Venkatramana , dental health co-ordinator gave a brief talk on importance of maintaining good oral hygiene. Dr. Biju Thomas Head of the department of Periodontics, also spoke on the occasion . Prof. Dr. Amitha Ramesh, Prof.Dr.Rahul Bhandary, Prof. Dr.Nina Shenoy and Dr. Santhosh Shenoy graced the occasion. A delegation of 8 dental students from University, Spain also attended the programme.
