Breastfeeding Week - NUINS

As part of the Breastfeeding Week ‘2015’ celebration, Department of Child Health Nursing Faculties and 2nd year M. Sc(N) Child Health students organized a programme to educate the population on Breastfeeding on 6th August 2015. The programme started at 10am by Mrs Jeevitha Alva, IInd year MSc (N), and 32 mothers participated. Health education was given to the group on exclusive breast feeding, methods (latching, positioning), advantages, adequacies’ of breast feeding, how to express and store breast milk. LCD was displayed and demonstrated to the mothers to make the talk more effective and understandable to the group. The group was co-operative and interactive during the session. The programme was concluded at 11:30 AM. Refreshments were served at the end of the programme.
