The of Pharmacy Practice Department of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organized a seminar and interactive session on the topic “Career opportunities in Pharmacy Practice” for the Post Graduates and Pharm.D students on 15th July 2015 at NIBF auditorium, Paneer, Derlakatte, Mangalore.
Dr. C.S.Shastry, principal-NGSMIPS initiated the program with a formal introduction of the distinguished guests Dr. M. Chandrasekar, Professor, University of Findlay, USA and Dr. Anantha Nagappa Naik, Professor, Department of Pharmacy Management, MCOPS, Manipal University.
Dr. M. Chandrasekar provided excellent insights into the various areas of Pharmacy Practice. His talk focused on the challenges and opportunities of pharmacy practice, Identification of medication error and its importance. He also shared his rich experiences in the practice of pharmacy in an interactive session with the students.
Dr.Anantha Nagappa Naik spoke on the pharmacoeconomic perspectives in the field of pharmacy practice. He discussed various forums, research activities in the area of pharmacoeconomics.
,br Dr. D.S. Puranik, Head of the Department facilitated the efficient conduct of the sessions. Both the sessions were aimed to give an insight about the various challenges and opportunities in the field of pharmacy practice and were well received by the students.
