School Dental treatment programme report - ABSMIDS

As a part of the 30th year celebration of A.B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental sciences and the N-BRITE program, we from the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, conducted a free dental screening camp in Bala Samrakshana Ashram dated on 28.06.2015 (Sunday) under the able guidance of Senior Prof. Dr. Amitha. M. Hegde, HOD and Dr. Amarshree Shetty of the Department of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry.

Oral screening was done for 79 children in the ashram and the oral health status was recorded.

REPORT

Out of 75 students screened, 66 needed preventive care and 12 need extractions. Restorations were advised in 33 children. 8 children required pulp therapy. 19 out of 75 children required occlusal guidance.




FUTURE PROSPECTS 

The first treatment camp is planned to be held on 27.09.2015. Follow up camps are planned to be held at 3 month intervals on 27.12.2015 and 27.03.2016.
