Prof. (Dr.) N. Sridhar Shetty is a Role Model teacher in the field of Health sciences in India said Padmabhusan Prof.B M Hegde Former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University. He stressed upon the Guru Shishya system in Indian context and called upon the young generation to take inspiration from Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty. He was talking at Annual Prof. (Dr.) Sridhar Shetty Endowment Lecture held on 15th July 2015 on WHAT IS HEALTH?! which was organized by Nitte University and Old students association of A.B.Shetty memorial Institute of Dental Sciences (ABSOSA).
Prof B M Hegde stressed on the Importance of Health and the role of Doctor in preventing diseases and treating patients holistically. He emphasized on the need for maintaining regular balanced Diet, exercise and sound sleep to lead a healthy life.
Prof B M Hegde also called upon the doctors to fight against the commercialization of health care by pharmaceutical industry which has lead to unhealthy practices. He appealed to the young doctors to utilize their education productively and come up with newer solutions to save human lives and work towards a disease free society.
Prof. B M Hegde congratulated the old students of Prof. (Dr.) N. Sridhar Shetty for their unique way of marking respect to their beloved teacher and for felicitating him for completing 50 Golden years of Teaching Dentistry.
Talking on the occasion, President of the function and Vice Chancellor of Nitte University Prof Dr. Ramananda Shetty appreciated the efforts of Prof Dr N Sridhar Shetty for making the A.B.Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental sciences as one of the Premier Dental colleges in India with excellent clinical material and for imparting Quality training to students.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ramananda Shetty also presented a memento to Key note speaker Prof B M Hegde. Prof. (Dr.) N. Sridhar Shetty specially thanked his students for their affection and love towards him and for felicitating for completing 50 golden years of teaching.
