A national level Continuing Dental Education Programme on ‘Direct Filling Gold’ was
conducted by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics of A.B.Shetty
Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences under the Chairmanship of Prof.(Dr) Mithra N Hegde,
Senior Professor and Head of the Department on 30th January 2015 which included a lecture
on “Cast Gold Restorations” by Dr. Shashi Rashmi Acharya and a lecture on “Direct
Filling Gold” by Dr. K.K. Wadhwani followed by a demonstration session.
Dr.K.K. Wadhwani stated that gold filling are the only life time restorations as seen in history
and also in experience. Any other filling serves for only 4-5 years as per statistics.
A total of 182 delegates attended the National level workshop on direct filling gold.
