Vanamahotsav at NGSMIPS

Extensive deforestation throughout the world in the recent years has resulted in unprecedented climatic changes in the form of scanty rainfall, Flash floods, droughts, cyclones and rising heat waves. We can’t call these as natural calamities anymore because this was not the same earth we inherited; rather our constant interference with nature for selfish pursuits has resulted in these ecological disturbance and climatic uncertainties.

In order to create awareness and concern among the youth about environment protection, the NSS cell of the college organized “Vanamahotsava” programme on 21st August 2014. The Principal Dr. C.S. Shastry addressed the volunteers and said it is time we seriously engaged ourselves in taking corrective measures before it is too late and situation slips out of control. The chief guest Dr. Muralee Mohan Choontharu, NSS Co-ordinator, Nitte University planted saplings and inaugurated the programme. The N.S.S Program officer, Mr. Santanu Saha thanked the staff and NSS student volunteers for their active participation
